Kenzi McCalister serves as the Administrator/Director of Patient Care Services and Nurse Practitioner at Monarch Hospice and Palliative Care. With over seven years of experience in nursing leadership, Kenzi brings a wealth of expertise to the hospice and palliative care fields. She is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals at the end of life.

In her dual role, Kenzi oversees all patient care services, supporting the clinical team and working closely with families to enhance the quality of life for those under Monarch's care. Kenzi is passionate about integrating clinical excellence with emotional support, ensuring each patient and family receives personalized care during a challenging time.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Kenzi is deeply committed to advancing the nursing profession and improving care systems through ongoing education and mentorship. She has a strong background in hospice leadership, having worked alongside multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, and continues to contribute to the development of best practices in end-of-life care.

Bre Pauley

Director of Nursing

For Bre, nursing started as a calling, not a job. Bre unfortunately lost her dad 14 years ago, and she remembers having this overwhelming feeling of helplessness when it came to the end of his life. Through that experience, Bre turned her pain into a passion and attended nursing school. Bre has dedicated herself to bringing the best end-of-life care possible to all her patients, and she prides herself on building rapport with everyone she comes in contact with. Throughout her career, Bre held various roles, from bedside care and special needs to leadership positions, and she is committed to achieving excellence through compassionate care. As a member of the Monarch Hospice team, Bre is honored to join a team that wants to ensure the highest standards of patient care are met.

With over ten years of nursing experience, Bre received her Associate of Nursing from Carrington College and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University. Bre hopes to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Clinical Leadership in the near future.

Along with her husband, Dan, Bre has five daughters, ages 3 to 16. When they are not attending school, sports or extracurricular events for her kids, they enjoy traveling, hiking and wine tasting.

Yvonne Baldani

Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator

Yvonne Baldani serves as the Volunteer Coordinator and Office Manager at Monarch Hospice and Palliative Care. In this dual role, she oversees daily office operations and manages the volunteer program, ensuring that volunteers are well-supported, trained, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to patient and family care. Yvonne's strong organizational skills and commitment to Monarch’s mission make her an invaluable member of the team, promoting both efficient operations and compassionate care.

Shannon Wills

RN Case Manager/Admission Nurse

Shannon is a dedicated RN Case Manager at Monarch Hospice who is passionate about providing compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. She takes the time to understand each of her patients and their families, ensuring the care she delivers is personalized and meets the unique needs of each individual. Aware of the challenges that come with hospice and end-of-life care, Shannon’s goal is to create a peaceful, supportive environment where families feel cared for every step of the way.

In her free time, Shannon enjoys cheering on the Sacramento Kings, 49ers, or Giants and spending time with her two beloved basset hounds.

Gianina Cervantes “Nina”

Gianina Cervantes, known as Nina, is a dedicated registered nurse who recently graduated with seven years of experience in patient care across diverse medical settings. Her passion lies in providing compassionate and dignified care to patients and their families, a commitment that has led her to develop a special affinity for hospice nursing. In this role, Nina finds fulfillment in helping patients and their families navigate the challenges of end-of-life care. She is devoted to fostering a supportive environment, ensuring that each patient receives personalized attention and comfort during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Mariana Arellano

Mariana Arellano has had the honor of dedicating her career to nursing, a path inspired by the passing of her grandfather. With a deep-rooted passion for working with the geriatric population, she considers it a privilege to support patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments. As a hospice nurse, Mariana is committed to providing comprehensive physical, emotional, and psychological support to ensure the highest quality of life for those in their final stages. Her approach centers on compassionate, patient-focused care, always honoring dignity, comfort, and respect.

Beth Deruelle

Beth Deruelle has had the privilege of dedicating her life to caring for others as a nurse and as a proud mother of two wonderful children. Her passion for helping others fuels both her professional and personal life, and she finds great fulfillment in offering comfort and support to families during their most challenging moments, ensuring they feel truly cared for and understood.

When she’s not at the bedside, Beth can often be found paddle boarding in new destinations or planning her next adventure and place to travel.

Jill Baughman

Community Liaison

Jill Baughman has had the pleasure of dedicating over 17 years to the senior living industry, with a specialization in hospice care. She is deeply committed to providing compassionate support and building meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Jill believes in finding compassion in every moment and offering comfort and care during life’s most significant times.

Outside of work, Jill cherishes spending time with her family, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. As a mom to two amazing kids who are passionate about soccer, dance, cross-country, and reading, she embraces the joy and energy they bring into her life.

Terri McKee

Director of Business Development

Terri has had the privilege of dedicating over 20 years to serving seniors, with the last 10 years as a rewarding journey in hospice care. She is passionate about advocating for patient-centered care and cherishes the opportunity to create meaningful, compassionate experiences for patients and their families during life’s most delicate moments. Terri is a devoted wife, proud mother of two adult children, and loving grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren—her 19-year-old granddaughter, now in her second year of university in California studying to become a doctor, and her spirited, creative 9-year-old grandson. Terri enjoys gardening, being outdoors, and playing with her two boxer dogs.

Jennifer Colvin

Medical Social Worker

Jennifer is our Medical Social Worker. She is a wife and mother of two children. She has made the Sacramento area home for the last five years.

She studied at CSU Monterey Bay where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and her master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis on working with families.

Jennifer has diverse experience working within nonprofits, public schools, and home health and hospice.

Sara Fargo

I’m excited to join Monarch as a hospice RN. My background in EMS and inpatient acute care helps me approach patient care with a calm, focused mindset. I’m passionate about providing compassionate care to my patients and their families, and I truly value the connections I get to make in this line of work. I consider it an honor to work with hospice patients and their families through this important life transition.

Outside of work, I’m a busy mom to three boys and enjoy spending time outdoors whether it’s hiking, camping, or time at my favorite Fort Bragg beach. I also love working on house projects and find creativity in tackling new DIY challenges. Pottery is another favorite pastime of mine.

With nearly a decade of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), I specialize in Hospice and Home Health care, with a particular focus on wound care. My extensive bedside experience has deepened my compassion for patients and their families, allowing me to provide personalized, attentive care in the comfort of their own homes. I am committed to delivering the highest quality of care, treating each patient with dignity, respect, and empathy.

Karena is a dedicated registered nurse with 10 years of bedside hospital experience, including hospice care. She is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care during life's final stages. Alongside her clinical practice, Karena has worked as a nursing clinical instructor, sharing her expertise and fostering the next generation of nurses. She holds a Master's in Teaching, which further enhances her ability to educate patients and their caregivers.

Krystal Battiste

Krystal Battiste is a dedicated hospice aide who graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor's degree in Gerontology. For the past four years, she’s devoted her time to caring for seniors, showing her deep commitment to their well-being and the families she supports. Krystal feels honored to be a helping hand in the community, and she has plans to continue her education with the goal of opening her own home and board one day. When she’s not working, she loves to travel and immerse herself in new cultures, which adds a rich perspective to her life and work.

Born in Hawaii, Tia Leorin has dedicated 15 years of her life to the healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Throughout her career, Tia has shown unwavering commitment to providing compassionate care and support to her patients. Her experience in the field has not only equipped her with essential skills but has also deepened her passion for helping others.

Tia's journey as a CNA has been marked by numerous rewarding experiences, and she continues to strive for excellence in her profession. She embodies the spirit of aloha, bringing warmth and kindness to everyone she encounters.

Annika Tamaki

Annika Tamaki is a newly graduated Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from UCLA. Born and raised in Elk Grove, Annika is excited to serve the Sacramento area and join the Monarch team! She is looking forward to supporting patients and their families with high quality end of life care.

In her free time, Annika loves traveling, reading, and watching or performing in musicals!

Zee Tompkins has dedicated over 15 years to the senior care industry, beginning her career as a hands-on caregiver and rising to the role of Memory Care Director. Her journey has been fueled by a deep passion for ensuring seniors are treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. Zee's extensive experience in memory care and leadership has equipped her with the skills to make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors and their families. Now, in the hospice care field, Zee is committed to ensuring families have compassionate end-of-life care, offering support and comfort during life's most tender moments. With a heart for service, she continues to be an advocate for quality care, making a difference one family at a time. In her spare time, Zee loves to spend time with her family and close friends, hitting the gym, and enjoying great food and belly laughs.
